FYI: Revlon Lilac Pastelle vs. Essie Neo Whimsical

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

It's that time of year again (although when is it not that time of year?) ... nail polish frenzy time! Not really. I did a Google search the other day to see if there were any noticeable color differences between the Essie Neo Whimsical nail polish and the Revlon Lilac Pastelle, and I didn't see anything. I've actually owned both of these polishes for quite some time, but I did buy the Revlon one as a more affordable dupe for the Essie one, but I'd never worn them side-by-side to see what the comparison was like.

Here are some photos of them, side-by-side ... as usual, excuse my cuticles and the general condition of my polish.

In daylight: Essie Neo Whimsical on the index and middle fingers, Revlon Lilac Pastelle on the ring and pinky fingers.

Oddly enough, in daylight, Revlon Lilac Pastelle appears slightly dustier and more purple than Essie Neo Whimsical, but in all other lighting, it's the other way around. To the naked eye, Essie Neo Whimsical was ever-so-slightly more grey and purple (mauve?), whereas Revlon Lilac Pastelle was much more of a standard light pastel color, and heavier on the pink. But the difference is practically unnoticeable.
