Project Pan Review: Crazy Rumors all-natural lip balm

Unfortunately, the Crazy Rumors lip balm didn't quite meet my expectations. But what I love about Crazy Rumors is that its products are all-natural and even vegan, featuring great ingredients:
Certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Soy Wax, Jojoba Oil, Carnauba Wax, Natural & Organic Flavors and/or Pure Essential Oils, Vitamin E, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Natural SteviaWhat I don't love is that it's sweetened by stevia. Personally speaking, I'd rather a flavored lip balm be not sweet than have it be sweetened using what a sugar alternative. Secondly, the lip balm wasn't altogether that moisturizing, or not as much as Green by Nature's lip balms were. Green by Nature's lip balms went on incredibly smoothly and had an almost glossy look without being sticky or overly slippery. And most importantly, they were so moisturizing that I only felt the need to reapply about once or twice a day. With the Crazy Rumors lip balms, I felt I needed to reapply every 2-to-3 hours.
The texture of the lip balm was another grievance of mine: during the winter, it was fine and went on smoothly -- not too waxy and not too slippery. But come summer, the lip balm went a little grainy and uneven, probably owing to the all-natural formula. This actually made application quite unpleasant for me.
Would I recommend it? No, unless you don't mind a little graininess. There are a ton of other natural lip balms out there, and I'm sure there's one that performs better than this Crazy Rumors lip balm.
The Crazy Rumors lip balms retail for $3.49 for 0.15 ounces/4.43 mL, but you can get them for cheaper on Drugstore.com or if you buy them in multipacks. The lip balms come in a wide variety of interesting flavors, which you can find on the website.

I have the gingerbread one and I really love it. I haven't experienced the grainy texture yet as it hasn't been hot at all in the UK, but maybe the lip balm will change in consistency when summer comes round (not much chance of that in England!) - we shall see! x
ReplyDeleteI hope it works out better for you than it did for me! Not to say that it was bad by any means. I really like that Crazy Rumors makes so many different flavors, though -- that's a huge plus!
