Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Fortifying Creme Shampoo for Extra-Dry, Damaged Hair review Project Pan
source: drugstore.com
The Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Fortifying Creme Shampoo appeared on my Project Pan 2013 list, and was one of the toughest products to get through. It also taught me the biggest lesson of Project Pan 2013: do not buy a family-sized version of anything unless you know you absolutely love it. And quite frankly, I am too fickle with most of my bath products to commit like that ever again. Lesson learned!

There were a lot of Project Pan products from last year that I learned to love as I used it ... but this Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Fortifying Creme Shampoo was not one of them. In fact, I'm pretty sure it caused some pretty destructive damage to my scalp.

I bought this after feeling like my hair needed some repair work back in 2011, and the Triple Nutrition Fortifying Creme Shampoo checked out. It claimed to nourish my hair deeply and strengthen it, for "soft, silky hair that's full of life." It also contains olive, shea, and avocado oils, which are supposed to respectively nourish the hair's inner core, middle layer, and surface.

Pah, say I. When I wrote my initial Project Pan 2013 entry, I said that I didn't like the shampoo because it seemed to dry my hair out. Well, as I full-on got into finishing this product up (not an easy feat, at a whopping 25.4 ounces), I was using this 3 to 4 times a week. This not only dried my hair out, but I'm pretty sure it dried my scalp out too. And caused major flakage that is only now calming down, after multiple coconut oil and tea tree oil treatments.

Did my hair seem any stronger? Absolutely not. I think it may have even caused more of my hair to fall out than the typical shampoo. Not to accuse it of weakening my hair, because I don't think my hair was breaking off -- I think it was falling out at the roots. My hair was frizzier, pouffier, and drier looking all around. It contains sodium laureth sulfate, dimethicone, glycerin, and sodium benzoate to boot. If you couldn't tell, I am absolutely NOT recommending this product. I am telling you to stay far, far away from it.
