Jules Larson #MusicMonday
Monday, June 23, 2014Once in a while, I hear a song during a film trailer that really catches my attention. One that stands out particularly in my mind is "Thinking Over" by Dana Glover, which was featured in the "Tuck Everlasting" trailer back in 2002. And sometimes, it seems as if a whole season of film trailers find one song so compelling that they don't mind sharing ("Breathe" by Michelle Branch, or how about "Why Can't I?" by Liz Phair?).
The song featured in the new trailer for the latest Nicholas Sparks film "The Best of Me" is another song that just sticks. It's called "Running Wild" by Jules Larson and has a je ne sais quoi quality to it that makes it slightly unconventional and interesting. And so does a lot of Jules Larson's music, as it turns out.
Here are some of my favorite Jules Larson songs:
The album 2012 "Let's Stay Young," on which "Running Wild" appears, is Jules Larson's first full-length album but she's been in the business for a while and has released several EPs. Her music has been featured in a host of television shows and movies, including "Grey's Anatomy," "The Fosters" and another Nicholas Sparks film, "The Lucky One."
